Il y a trois comparatifs: le comparatif de supériorité (+), d'infériorité (+) et d'égalité (=).

Le comparatif de supériorité se construit ainsi: adjectif + er + than

Si l'adjectif est long: more + adjectif + than

Le comparatif d'infériorité se construit ainsi: less + adjectif + than

Le comparatif d'égalité se construit ainsi: as + adjectif + as
